Mencari Solusi Konflik Papua Melalui Tiga Pilar Dasar: Perspektif Filosofis-Humanis
Keywords:
Conflict in Papua, Indonesia, trust, recognition, communal prosperityAbstract
The conflict in Papua reflects a dynamic of violence that no longer involves only indigenous Papuans (OAP) and the Indonesian government, but also occurs among indigenous Papuans themselves, as well as between OAP and other Indonesian citizens. This ongoing hostility is marked by acts of quarrels, riots, unrest, inter-tribal wars, rebellions, shootings and massacres in several areas in Papua. These factual incidents bring their own concerns to all parties, especially to Indonesia as a sovereign nation. This article seeks to offer solutions to resolving the conflict in Papua with a philosophical-humanist approach. The philosophical-humanist approach is a way of thinking that emphasizes the values of humanity, dignity, and individual freedom. Using qualitative methods, this study aims to elaborate on the complexity of the Papua issue which contains debates about the status of Papua, research by several researchers on Papua, as well as portraits of the conflict and the responses of Indonesian leaders. Data analysis uses literature reviews from books, research journals and relevant online publications. Based on the insights of a philosophical-humanist approach, the author found three main pillars as the foundations for reconciling the parties involved in the conflict. The three pillars are mutual trust, mutual recognition, and mutual feeling in shared efforts to build communal prosperity. Although these three basic pillars seem to be theoretical, in-depth elaboration of them can be used as a fundamental basis in formulating concrete, contextual, and well-suited peaceful solutions.
