This article analyzes the role of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in consolidating his political power through a network of buzzers, which he has utilized as a tool for political manipulation. Jokowi's use of buzzers is not only aimed at boosting his popularity but also at suppressing criticism and opposition through disinformation. Using the simulacra theory of philosopher Jean Baudrillard, this article examines how the phenomenon of buzzers on social media creates a "simulacra democracy," a democracy that appears strong but is full of illusions. From this perspective, it becomes clear how Indonesian democracy is increasingly ensnared in digital hyperreality, blurring the boundaries between reality and representation. This article also discusses the impact of buzzers on public political participation, the growing distrust in democracy, and freedom of speech, as well as potential efforts to restore democratic integrity. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data sources include books, research findings, journal articles, and online sources. The findings reveal that Jokowi's buzzers play a significant role in shaping public perception and often distort democratic values, creating a dangerous climate of political manipulation.
